Way back when in the olden days (remember the ’90s, anyone?) as soon as a girl became engaged she would run to the store and start tearing through magazines, ripping out pictures of the dresses and flowers she loved and to hang on the wall or stuff into a binder. Enter Pinterest! According to the “About Me” tab, ”Pinterest is a virtual pinboard. Pinterest allows you to organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. You can browse pinboards created by other people to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.”
In short, ladies, Pinterest is your new Best Friend in wedding planning!
Imagine the possibilities! Research studies show that if we Google something and it’s not on the 1st or 2nd page we give up and look elsewhere. Imagine a place where you can type in “wedding reception” and it pulls up all of the research that’s already been done by everyone else AND there’s a picture of it to see if you even like the idea before you click on it!! You can have followers a la Facebook, share information on Twitter, and – the best part yet – if you install the Pin It! button onto your tool bar, you can literally pin, keep, and catalogue anything and everything you find on the internet for later! By pinning pictures and organizing your images, you can immediately keep track of everything that inspires you, explain exactly what you are wanting to your wedding planner, and even allow your friends and family to contribute to your vision! Oh, and did I mention that there’s an app so you can keep your entire wedding at your finger tips and scrap that ginormous binder?!
